The Magic Circle Festival is unique, as it is a festival that is organised and put together by a band and it's very own record label. The band in question are the legendary warriors of metal, MANOWAR. Worldwide, opinions are divided over MANOWAR. This is a band who have never conformed to popular ways, and have always had their own ways of doing things.
HAYSEED DIXIE are back with an extensive tour promoting their latest album the aptly called ‘No Covers’, yes you’ve guessed it, it contains no covers which for a band that made its name with the album ‘A Hillbilly tribute to AC/DC’ they’re becoming more than a novelty band.
So there i was at work on Monday 1st July 2008, 9am as usual, i checked my email to find.......I was one of only a handful of people who will sing 'Heaven Can Wait' Live on Stage with IRON MAIDEN.
I could not believe it, My favorite Band of all time and little old me?
When JOURNEY returned to play UK shores in 2006, it seemed like they'd been away for an eternity. Now it seems like they can't keep away, with this their 3rd UK tour in 3 years, each time with a different singer.
It's been a while since I've started a review with a rant about the venue, but I must mention the ridiculous bar policy at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall (bearing in mind that ultimately, we're talking about a heavy metal show here). The only time you could buy a drink was before the show, and during the intermission. The rest of the time, around 20 bar staff stood at the bar twiddling their thumbs.

Download-goers are in for a treat - I promise you that for free. This tour is absolute genius, the ego-filled hardcore bands work together to turn each and every member of the crowd into a complete sweaty mess. The night had every intention of kicking off, being a complete sell-out, and anyone who missed out should be kicking themselves…HARD.
CAJUN DANCE PARTY are a band who have recently released their debut album which happens to be in my humble opinion one of the best indie debuts of the year so far.
With only a month to promote the RATT tour, ticket sales were never going to break records, so unsurprisingly, tonight's show was moved from the 1,900 capacity Rock City Main Hall, to the 300 capacity Rescue Rooms, just around the corner.
Whenever an album by a band who've been going a while, but yet I haven't heard of, drops through my letter box, it's always difficult to motivate myself to give it a spin. After all, if I haven't heard of them by now, surely they can't be that good?
After paying homage to the past in the form of 'Under Satanae', MOONSPELL are very much back in the present with their latest full length album 'Night Eternal'. MOONSPELL are continually experimenting with their sound and hence have covered quite a few genres at one time or another from their Black metal roots flirting with heavier
Whether trekking Europe, reviewing every Maiden album track or even sharing stages with Bruce Dickinson at Clive Aid, there doesn’t come many more fanatical IRON MAIDEN heads than this one.
'Skeletons' is the latest installment of horror rock from MURDERDOLLS frontman WEDNESDAY 13. Take the sound of ALICE COOPER's recent material, crack up the distortion a little, oh, and throw in a few 'fucks', and you'll pretty much arrive at the sound of WEDNESDAY 13.
Following the withdrawal of AFTER FOREVER, it was Norwegians PAGAN's MIND who opened tonight's show with a 45 minute set. Their musical style is not too dissimilar from the headline band and often gets described as progressive power metal. Their main asset is frontman Nils K. Rue, who has an extremely powerful voice and enjoys a good rapport with the audience.
It was an early start in Manchester tonight with the Defenders of the Faith package tour rolling into town, serving up a menu of 4 bands for the metal hungry, sold out crowd.
